Bollywood actress, Mallika Sherawat will be seen in another Hollywood film Love, Barack . In this upcoming flick by Doug McHenry, she shares screen space with Avatar hero, Laz Alonso. A comedy romance inspired by the slew of publicly documented election love stories that sprung up during Obama’s Presidential push. The plot follows the fortunes of a campaign team caught up in a whirlwind of euphoric romances.

The film is directed by William Dear. Mallika Sherawat plays Aretha Gupta, a devoted local Obama volunteer coordinator. And a month before the election day, Democrat Aretha unexpectedly falls for her Republican counterpart (Alonso),a handsome, dynamic African-American working for the local McCain office.The film is a political comedy in which she plays a volunteer coordinator for Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, who falls in love with her counterpart for John McCain s campaign, played by Laz Alonso.

Laz Alonso is an American actor of Afro-cuban origin who shot into limelight with his role as Tsu tey in James Cameron s Avatar . He also appeared in films like This Christmas and The Fast and The Furious . He also had a stint in television where he hosted talk shows and acted in television series apart from featuring in a few music videos.

Born into a Jat family of Rohtak, Haryana, as Reema Lamba, Sherawat opted for Mallika Sherawat as her screen name as she made her foray into Bollywood. Known for her dare to bare attitude, Mallika is more famous as a sex symbol in the industry. She created ripples with her bold performances in Khwahish and Murder , which were some of her initial films. She also tried to tap her potential as a comedian with films like, Maan-Gaye-Mughal-E-Azam, Pyar ke Side Effects and Ugly Aur Pagli. Her performance in Pyar ke Side Effects was appreciated by film critics. She has also danced in item numbers in some Bollywood films.

After having gained a foothold in the Hindi film industry, Mallika shifted her focus to Hollywood. Her first Hollywood film was, Hisss by Jennifer Lynch, where she featured opposite Indian actor, Irrfan Khan. Love, Barack , her latest Hollywood venture and Hisss have both featured in the Cannes International Film Festivals. She has also appeared in another Hollywood film, The Myth opposite Jackie Chan.
